Nervous system disorders and mental health disorders may have similar symptoms, and some behavioral symptoms can be signs of a nervous system disorder. Damage to the nervous system can cause problems in daily functioning. Specialized imaging methods can visualize changes in brain activity or the levels of particular brain chemicals.
